| Fitting a new hinge or HT Joiner |
Cut through the end of the hinge |
Remove the old hinges by drilling through the rivets |
Fit new hinge over belting, making sure that the holes line up with the original rivet holes |
Tighten rivets so that the back edge of the hinge nips to the belt |

| Fitting a new K-Type Joiner |
Remove the bolts holding the hinges with 10mm and 13mm socket spanners |
Fit the new hinge over the bar end holes and the existing belt holes |
Tighten bolts through the belting into the threaded back plate to obtain a good grip on the belt |
Grind excessive bolt thread flush with the backing plate |

| Accurately measuring important dimensions on a web |
Pitch: Place tape measure from centre of first bar to centre of the 11th bar thus creating 10 spaces. The pitch measurement is then taken from the whole distance divisible by ten. I.e. if the distance from centre of first bar to centre of 11th bar is 400mm then the web pitch is 40mm. |

Finding the width of the web:
Can be done by simply taking the full width from the outside of the belting, however for spare joiners or better accuracy, the following measurements are useful: |
Width of belting |
Distance centre to centre between the outside hole centres |
Distance between outside whole centres: Measure centre to centre of the hole centres on a section of the outside belt |
Thickness of Belting Measure the thickness of belting at the thickest point on the tooth |
